01 / Shop brief
Forge North sits between prototype-only workshops and high-volume factories. We make short runs, repair critical assemblies and carry repeat jobs where documentation matters as much as the part.
Every order has a traveller: material, drawing revision, operations, inspection points and sign-off. That record stays with the job so a repeat is actually a repeat.
02 / Capability
Milled and turned aluminium, mild steel, stainless and engineering plastics for prototypes and repeat short runs.
3-axis · turning · probing
Laser-cut and formed sheet, frames, brackets, guards and welded assemblies with documented fixtures.
MIG · TIG · fixtures
Deburr, bead blast, powder coat coordination, passivation and finish verification before dispatch.
surface control
Measure worn or broken components, document critical interfaces and reproduce where commercial replacement is impractical.

07 / Shop notes
A practical note on matching tolerance to function instead of copying the tightest number from an old drawing.
How masked faces, threaded features and mating interfaces should be called out before finishing.
The fastest route to a useful replacement part is identifying what must fit, seal, clear or align — not measuring everything equally.
08 / RFQ questions
STEP or IGES is preferred for machined parts, with a PDF drawing for tolerances, finishes and inspection notes. DXF is sufficient for many cut-and-form jobs.
Yes. We can reverse-engineer simple components, document critical dimensions and agree where cosmetic approximation is acceptable before production.
Yes, when the setup is commercially sensible. Prototype and repair work is quoted separately from repeat production.
Non-conforming work is quarantined, recorded and reviewed before shipment. Depending on the cause we rework, remake or agree a documented concession with the client.
