About / mandate

Terrain knowledge is part of the medical kit.

Northwall Rescue is a fictional volunteer search-and-rescue unit covering mountain, gorge and exposed trail systems around a large upland reserve.

Teams train for search management, rope access, remote first aid and casualty evacuation, but prevention matters equally. Incident patterns feed directly into route advice, leader training and seasonal safety notes.

Insights / safety notes

Prepare from incident evidence.

Route note 17

Wind changes above the North Ridge saddle

Three recent assists started with parties continuing after wind exceeded their turnaround plan.

Field note 22

Phone batteries in cold weather

A simple insulation layer and airplane mode can preserve the device you may need for location.

Leader note 08

Turnaround times are decisions, not aspirations

Build the return margin before the group leaves the trailhead.

FAQ / objections

Before conditions turn.

When should I call mountain rescue?

Call early when a person is injured, missing, stranded, hypothermic, unable to descend safely or when conditions have made self-rescue unrealistic. Delay can make a simple search much harder.

Do you charge for rescue?

Northwall is a fictional volunteer rescue service and does not charge casualties. Public emergency services may have their own policies for ambulance or aviation support.

Can I send my live location?

Yes. If mobile data is available, the incident coordinator will send a location link or ask for coordinates. Keep the phone warm and conserve battery after contact.

Can groups book safety training?

Yes. Clubs, schools and outdoor organisations can request navigation, incident prevention, first aid and group-leader workshops.

Contact / conversion

Lost is a reason
to call early.

For a real emergency, contact your local emergency services. This is a fictional concept website and not an active rescue service.

Training enquiries

Prevention workshops available for clubs and schools.
